Ae Hari Mo Sau Na Bigaran Kou - Lalita Avtar Shri Haridas Ji, Ashtadash Pada (05)

(Raag Bilawal)
Ai Hari Mo Sau Na Bigaran Kau, To Sau Na Sanvaran Kau, Mohin Tohin Pari Hod. [1]
Kaun Dhaun Jeetai, Kaun Dhaun Haarai, Par Badi Na Chhod. [2]
Tumhaari Maaya Baaji Vichitra Pasaari, Mohe Sur Muni, Ka Ke Bhule Kor. [3]
Kahin Shreeharidas Ham Jeete, Haare Tum, Taau Na Tod. [4]

- Swami Shri Haridas Ji, Ashtadash Pada (05)

The soul addresses Shri Banke Bihari Ji, saying, “O Bihari Ji, when it comes to ruining my future, I excel like no one else. But you, on the other hand, are unmatched in tirelessly fixing everything repeatedly. It seems as though there’s an intense competition between us.” [1]

In this strange contest, no side experiences defeat. Shri Bihari Ji is unwavering in His resolve to uplift and save us, while the soul is equally relentless in its self-destructive tendencies. Thus, the notion of victory or loss doesn’t arise, as neither party is willing to surrender. [2]

The soul then laments, “O Hari! Your Maya is so mighty that even great sages fall prey to its illusion. As a fallen and insignificant being, how can I hope to escape its grip?” [3]

Shri Haridas Ji Maharaj concludes, There is no end to this competition. The soul continues to ruin itself, and Shri Bihari Ji repeatedly strives to reform it. Yet, since we have no true desire to rectify our future, it seems that we have won, and Bihariji's infinite compassion has lost. [4]
