Shri Vrindavandas Thakur prays to Vrinda Devi:
“By your Mercy, people attain residence in Vrindavan, the desire to serve your Master’s Lotus Feet and the desire to assist in the Raas dance, Oh Vrinda, I bow to your Lotus Feet.”
Shri Vrinda Devi remains in Vrindavan in Prakat (manifested) and Aprakat (unmanifested) pastimes.
Her Prakat (manifested) form is a very beautiful original deity of Vrindavan which was now installed in Kamyavan.
The great-grandson of Lord Krishna, Vajranabh Ji installed Shri Vrinda Devi in Brahma Kund, Vrindavan soon after the departure of Lord Krishna somewhere around 5000 years ago.
Meanwhile, in due course of time when the Foreigners attacked, the priest of the temple hides Shri Vrinda Devi in the waters of Brahma Kund.
Shri Roop Goswami rediscovered her from Brahma Kund in Vrindavan around 500 years ago and installed her on the right side of Shri Radha Govind Dev Ji, Vrindavan and worshipped her. In the meantime, Shri Roop Goswami built a new temple just beside Shri Radha Govind Dev Temple and established Shri Vrinda Devi in the new temple.
Sometime later, the Mughal King Aurangzeb attacked Vrindavan and was destroying the ancient temples, things were getting very dangerous, then Shri Vrinda Devi along with Shri Radha Govind Dev deity with many other deities was eventually taken to Kamyavan. Because Kamyavan forest was pretty far from Vrindavan, so they moved there.
After some time, the Vaishnavas felt that the Kamyavan was not safe any longer, so they decided they will take Vrinda Devi, Radha Govind Dev, Radha Gopinath, and many other deities to Jaipur to Maharaja Jay Singh (I) for protection.
Vaishnavas put the deities in bullock carts and covered them with the hays so the Mughal soldiers couldn't see them.
But then something very dear to the hearts of all Vaishnavas happened when they try to take those deities to Jaipur which was hundreds of kilometers away. The bullock carts with riding Krishna easily left the preliminator of Kamyavan to go down to Jaipur, but the bullock cart of Vrinda Devi wouldn’t move. Many men tried to push it, they get some extra bullocks to pull it, they get horses and even elephants to try to pull that cart, but it wouldn’t move an inch. Vrinda Devi refused to leave Kamyavan.
Now we get a really interesting glimpse into the minds of Vrinda Devi by the grace of Baldev Vidyabhushan, the disciple of Vishwanath Chakravarti Thakur. He reveals how Vrinda Devi was thinking when they were trying to pull her out of Braj. This is one of the most touching and heart-rendering revelations you can ever hear in Vaishnava's history.
Let's see how Vrinda Devi was thinking when they were trying to take her out of Braj.
Baldev Vidhyabhushan says, Vrinda Devi thought as follows:
“I can not leave Braj. If I would leave, then what would the devotees think, if I Vrinda Devi would leave Braj, then how could the devotees have faith in Vrindavan if I was not present here. Krishna may come, Krishna may go, but I take a solemn promise, I should never leave Braj”
Vrinda Devi’s origin as a personality in the spiritual world is very interesting, She is an expansion of Shrimati Radha Rani.
Location:
