- Shri Ghasiram (Braj Ke Lokgeet)
The adornment of the beautiful-faced Shri Shyamashyam is Basanti (light yellow). [1]
The tilted peacock crown of Shri Krishna, the 'Chandrakala' (the Crescent-shaped decoration in the crown), the flute on his lips, the turban atop his head, and the earrings gracing his ears, all boast a gentle tint of light yellow. [2]
The sandalwood adorning their foreheads gleams in light yellow, as does Sri Krishna’s Pitambara attire. A glimpse of them settled in my heart also bears the same soft light yellow hue. Furthermore, the rosary and flower garland encircling their necks are also adorned in light yellow. [3]
The gold bangles adorning the Lotus Hands of Shri Shyamashyam are light yellow. The divine couple strolls in this Basant (spring) season, both dressed in light yellow. Even the jingling of their anklets sounds very sweet as if they are basanti as well. [4]
The group of cowherds accompanying Shri Radha Krishna is in light yellow attire, with drums and tambourines decorated in the same hue. Joyful conversations fill the air in this spring season, and Shri Radharani, the crest jewel among all the Sakhi, also radiates the same light yellow hue. [5]
Shri Ghasiram says, the supreme grace of love of Shri Shyamashyam, along with the taste of this divine nectar, both resonate with the essence of Basanti. During the springtime, all worldly regulations and rules are forgotten, while the name of Shri Radha, the essence of everything, showers nectar like a perpetually rejuvenating spring. [6]
