Aho Doun Ke Mukh Chand Lasai - Braj Ke Sawaiya

(Sawaiya)
Aho! Doun Ke Mukh Chand Lasai,
Aru Doun Ke Drig Chaaru Chakori.
Pat Shyaamal Shyaam Lakhau Pahine,
Patpeet Kase Kati Radhika Gori. [1]
Aji Preeti Ki Reeti Ki Kaun Kahai?
Vipareet Bani Ati Adbhut Jori!
Sakhi! Sundar Kaun Kahau Inmein,
Vrishbhanu Dulare Ki Nand Kishori. [2]

- Braj Ke Sawaiya

O dear sakhi! Both Śrī Rādhā and Śrī Kṛṣṇa have faces radiant like the full moon, and each is the cakōrī (moon-lover bird) to the other’s moon-like face. Śyāmasundara, with His dark complexion, is adorned in dark-colored garments, while fair-complexioned Rādhikā is adorned in golden-yellow attire tied gracefully around Her waist. [1]

What a wondrous play of love this is, difficult to understand, for today this Divine Couple seems to be appearing in contrast to each other’s usual forms. So, O sakhi, now you tell me—who appears more beautiful today: Rādhā, the darling daughter of Vṛṣabhānu, or Kṛṣṇa, the lovely son of Nanda? [2]
