Dhan-Dhan Vrindavan Ke Lava Bater Pyare.
Chaar Pahar Dubake Hi Baithen, Kuhi Baaj Ke Mare. [1]
Raj Men Rahen Piyen Jamuna Jal, Van Men Basai Anyare.
Abhayaram Aihun Badabhagi, Ye Lala Ke Pyare. [2]
- Shri Abhay Ram, Vrindavan Rahasya Vinod (72)
Blessed indeed are the quails and partridges of Śrī Vṛndāvana. Out of fear of hawks, they remain hidden within the shelter of the groves day and night. Yet they never leave Vṛndāvana or fly elsewhere, always remaining under the refuge of its sacred nikunjas. [1]
They dwell only in the supremely sacred dust of Vṛndāvana, drink the waters of Yamunā Jī, and spend their entire lives within the forests of Vṛndāvana. Śrī Abhayarāma Jī says that these birds are exceedingly fortunate and are dearly loved by Lāḍilī-Lāl. [2]
