Gokul Mahavan

This is the seventh of the 7 main doors, of which Vasudev Ji brought Shri Krishna across the Yamuna here. He came at 12:00 pm at night and leave Krishna here and take Yashoda's daughter who was Goddess Yogmaya. And when Kansa went to kill that girl, she appeared in the sky as Goddess Yoga Maya. And Goddess Yoga Maya said, "O foolish Kans, what will you kill me, your killer has been born in Gokul, as told by Akashvani". Hail to the glory of Nanda Baba. This is the main Gate among the seven gates which is called Vasudev Dwar. Hail to the glory of Child Krishna. Maharaj Vasudev is the father of Shri Krishna. He brought Shri Krishna here on the auspicious day of Janmashtami. He brought in this same form of a child, King of Serpent SheshNaag is behind as parasol preventing Lord from rain drops. Vasudev Ji brought Shri Krishna crossing the Yamuna at this place first. And SheshNaag is preventing Lord from rain waters. Goddess Yamuna touches the feet of Lord and makes Vasudev ji a way out of the water. Lord Krishna has given darshan in the form of Lord Vishnu here, holding Conch shell, Disk, Mace and Lotus in all four hands, it is also a Narayana form. Here is Mother Yashoda who gave birth to a girl who is Goddess Yog Maya. Vasudev ji left Shri Krishna here and took Yog Maya with him to Mathura, this is the same Pastimes darshan. Maharaj Nand celebrated Lord Krishna's birthday here. Hail to the glory of Maharaj Nand's son Shri Krishna. When Kansa came to know that Shri Krishna was born in Gokul, Kansa sent his cousin sister Pootana here to kill Shri Krishna. Pootna came with poison in her breasts. She came with milk of lioness filled in her breasts. When Shri Krishna has taken the life of Pootana, she changed into her demonic form. Sri Krishna has given her the status of mother. And Pootna went to Vaikuntha, the devine abode of Lord Vishnu. First mother of Shri Krishna is Mother Devaki, who gave birth. Second mother is Yashoda, who raised him. And Sri Krishna gave Pootna the status of third mother. Hail to the glory of Shri Krishna. When Lord Krishna stole butter, Mother Yashoda tied him here. He is worshipped as Lord Krishna in all the three worlds but he is worshipped as Baby Krishna here in Gokul. He came to Mother Yashoda when her age was 60. Hail to the glory of Maharaj Nanda's son Shri Krishna. Lord Shiva here is called by the name "Chintaharana Mahadeva". He is Svayambhu Shivlinga (not man made but appeared by itself) with another 1000 small Shivlinga. He came here from Mount Kailash for darshan of Baby Krishna. But Mother Yashoda refused to show his dear son to him. She told him "My little Krishna will be scared of you, please look at your frightful form. So Lord Shiva came and sat here with fixed determination that i will not returm to Mount Kailash without darshan of Lord Krishna. Mother Yashoda took his dear son and went to Brahmand Ghat of Yamuna Ji to bathe Krishna. There Lord Krishna had eaten the soil. Mother Yashoda got worried that what has happened to my son that he is eating mud leaving milk, curd and butter. When Mother Yashoda opened Krishna's mouth, the whole universe started to appear there and she saw herself in it as well. Mother Yashoda got worried of her son, that something has happened to him. Some cowherds came and told Mother Yashoda that a saint is sitting here, take your son to him and show him, he will definetly cure your son. Mother Yashoda came to Lord Shiva with Krishna. Lord Shiva removed the worry of Mother Yashoda and he also got darshan of Shri Krishna. One Shivlinga has 1108 Shivlinga's in it. This Shivlinga is called Chintaharan Mahadev, who has 1108 Shivlinga's in it. Lord Krishna did many Pastimes here with his cowherd friends and gopis. Daan gali, Maan gali, Kan Chhedan gali are located here where Krishna used to play
