Men and women of all castes and classes used to come to worship him. Indian politicians also loved him. Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi also came for his darshan. Politicians, devotees, mystic saints, priests, rich and poor - all used to come for Baba's darshan and blessings.

The life of Devaraha Baba is very mysterious, and according to various versions, his entire life span has been estimated at 150 to 250 years. Baba was called the "Eternal Yogi". Devaraha Baba had mastered the Khechari Mudra by controlling his senses and the time of his disappearance. Dr. Rajendra Prasad, the first president of India, said that "from my experience, Baba's age is about 150 years." Devaraha Baba's presence was recorded in the 12 main Kumbh Mela festivals which occur once in 12 years. The Allahabad High Court lawyer determined that seven generations of his family used to come for the darshan of Devaraha Baba.
On 19 June 1990, giving the powers and knowledge to the disciples' Dev Das Ji (Bade Maharaj) and Ram Sevak Das Ji (Chhote Maharaj), Devaraha Baba left his body and entered the state of Mahasamadhi.
