"Among the twelve forests of Braj, the fourth forest is Kaamvan, about which there is a saying that "Kaamvan jaaye te kaam ban jaat hai". Kaam means desires, which are fulfilled in Kamyavan. It also fulfills the transcendental desire of Shri Krishn. It is here that the transcendental sweet pastimes of Shri Radha Krishna has happened." Chaturtham Kamyakavanam Vananam Vanamuttamam. Tatra Gatva Naro Devi Mam Loke Mahiyate - Aadi Varaha Purana (153/37) The importance of Kamyavan is automatically proved by the fact that Lord Shri Krishn fulfilled the wish of his parents' pilgrimage by giving residence to all the major pilgrimages of India in this Kamyavan, only then in Kamyavan, Adibadri, Kedarnath, Prayag, Gaya, Lanka, Setubandrameshwar, Kashi, etc. remain the center of faith of devotees today. The circumambulation of Kamyavan is of 21 kilometers. According to Vishnu Purana, there are eighty-four ponds, eighty-four pilgrimages, eighty-four temples, and eighty-four pillars. The famous deities of Braj, Shri Radhagovind, Radhagopinath, Shri Radhamadanmohan, Shri Radhadamodar, Shri Radhamadhav, and Shri Govind Dev Ji had also rested here for a few days while going to Jaipur during the atrocities of Aurangzeb. Vrinda Devi came to Kamyavan and did not leave from there. Apart from this, during the time of Pandavas' exile during the Mahabharata period, Pandavas had also resided in Kamyavan for a long time. Krishn's sister and Arjuna's wife Subhadra Ji had come here and there is also a Kund named after her. In the Vrindavan section of Shri Garga Samhita, Bhishma had described the glory of Braj to Maharaj Pandu. Many chief Gopis, whose wish to meet the Lord was not fulfilled during the appearance of Lord Ram, also came to this place and met Shri Krishn in Raas dance.
