
Lohvan
The black deity in Lohvan is sage Lohjangha, established by the demigods. Lohvan is named after the sage Lohjang. He did severe penance here to attain Braj. The most famous pastime of Lohvan is that Jarasandha was defeated at this place. He attacked Mathura. It was here outside Mathura that he had a battle with Krishn and Balaram. According to Vayu Purana, the prayer mantra of Lohvan : Lohjanghanasambhuta Kalakashthaswarupine. Sarvadhavimuktay Namaste Lohsangyake. Originated from the sage Lohjang, the culmination of arts, free from all obstacles, salutations to you. Lohajanghavanam Naam Lohajanghen Rakshitam. Navamantu Vanam Devi Sarva Patakanashanam. - Aadi Varaha Purana O, goddess! (Earth) the ninth forest named Lohajangha, protected by Sage Lohajangha, destroys all the sins. This is the place where Shri Krishn used to come to graze his cows. While grazing cows with the cowherd friends, they used to joke and laugh at each other, Shri Krishn and Balaram come to this lonely place. The cowherds attain supreme bliss, enjoying the shade of dense trees on a summer afternoon.
