Raag Lavani

Raag Lavani is a light classical raag from the Khamaj thaat, often associated with folk-style melodies and dance forms, especially the Lavani dance of Maharashtra. It uses an Audav (pentatonic) structure with the notes: Sa Re Ga Pa Ni Sa (Aroh) and Sa Ni Pa Ga Re Sa (Avroh). The Vadi is Ga and Samvadi is Ni, and it is sung in the early night (6 PM – 9 PM). The raag carries a playful, rhythmic, and romantic mood, and blends classical elements with folk charm.
