Vedabhyasarato Mahamatishvarah Raagah Sada Paatu Nah. - Sage Narada, Raag Nirupanam (83) Raag Kamod is the son of Raag Kaushik and is charmingly attired, easily approachable, loved by kraunch bird (a bird which loves moon). He has a long eyesight, rolling and unsteady like the ascetic brahmin with a staff (sacred danda held by ascetic). He is loved by Vidyadhara tribe. He has a body smeared with ash, possessing a curvaceous tongue similar to the crescent borne by Lord Shiva. He is the most intelligent raag, absorbed in the practice of Vedas. Raag Kamod is sung in the first quarter of night (6 PM - 9 PM).
