The Skanda Purana (IAST: Skanda Purāṇa) is the largest Mahapurana, a genre of eighteen Hindu religious texts. The text contains over 81,000 verses, and is part of Shaivite literature,[2] titled after Skanda, a son of Shiva and Parvati, who is also known as Kartikeya and Murugan.

Lord says, Attaining the holy abode of Braj cannot be attained through meritorious deeds, nor through charities, nor through austerities, nor even through hymns of praise. It is not achievable through various practices of yoga; it is obtained only through My grace.
In that supremely sacred land of Vraja, Nandakumāra Śrī Kṛṣṇa, whose divine form is eternally blissful, and who is completely self-satisfied and self-fulfilled, is directly realized only by those devotees whose hearts are wholly immersed in love.
Even those who are least qualified, the dumb, the dull, the blind, the deaf, and those lacking austerity or discipline — if they die in Braj, they attain my divine abode.
If, even after reaching Mathurā (Braj), one still longs for other places, how can such an evil-minded soul ever attain true knowledge? He merely exposes his ignorance.
O souls! Reside, reside in that sacred land of Mathura (Braj Mandal), where Lord Govinda and the gopis, the illuminators of all three worlds, eternally reside!
Those who die in Braj, even if by snakebite, by wild animals, by fire, by drowning, or through any untimely or unnatural death, they all attain my divine abode.
The sacred land of Braj, within the Mathura region, is where the supreme essence resides on this earth. Though hidden from ordinary eyes, it is fully revealed by the Lord’s grace to those who are filled with love.
Those who consider the holy city of Mathura (or Braj) as an ordinary place should be recognized as being associated with heaps of sins.
In the holy region of Mathura (Braj), where there is no fear of sins, no fear of Yama (the god of death), and no fear of the confinement of the womb, who would not seek refuge in such a place?
The land of Braj is the land of fruition (of penance), formerly given to Udhhava long ago. The fruit is hidden here, and so is Uddhava who stays here in hidden form.
Rukmani, Satyabhama and other queens of Krishna in Dwarka are manifested through the fraction of Shri Radha. Radha and Krishna always remain together and eternally united.
Those who contemplate like this: "I will go to Mathura (Braj), I will reside in Braj", also becomes free from the bondage of Maya.
This is that divine land of Braj where both eternal [secret] and manifested pastimes are occurring simultaneously. The eligible Rasik Devotees get the darshan of these pastimes sometimes.
O ignorant material beings [intoxicated with the sensual pleasures], listen carefully! If You desire divine bliss, then reside in Braj unceasingly.
Shri Yamunaji says: The soul of Shri Krishn is Shri Radharani, and I have become her maidservant. This is the glory of Shri Radharani’s servitude that I never experience the agony in the separation of Shri Krishn, because Shri Krishn always dwells with Shri Radha in eternal Nitya Vihar in Vrindavan.
If anyone with a wish to do the darshan of Braj dies before his wish is fulfilled, he will certainly be reborn in Braj. There is no doubt about that.
Even if one donates ten million golden horned cows in charity during the eclipse in Kashi Dham, lives at the holy Prayaga Dham on the bank of Ganga for millions of years.
The merit that is accrued by living in Bharat Varsha [India] for many years can be achieved by just remembering Braj once.
Shri Krishn says: Those who develop a deep love for Mathura [Braj] have steady and unshakable devotion at my feet and therefore are eligible for My abundant grace.
The Para Brahma, that is beyond the three qualities of satva (purity, goodness), raja (activity, passion) and tama (darkness, ignorance), that alone is all-pervasive.
