About four hundred meters south-east of Kusuma-sarovara is Narad-Kunda, where Shri Narad performed austerities. After Narad heard the glories of gopi-bhava (the exalted moods ofthe gopis) from the mouth of Vrinda Devi, an intense desire to lovingly serve the Divine Couple Shri Radha Krishna as a gopi in Their most elevated amorous pastimes arose in his heart. He began to perform meditation and worship here in the mood of Gopis.
After doing this for a long time, Yogamaya dipped Narad Ji in Kusuma-sarovara, by which he received the form of a gopi. Thereafter, he qualified to serve the Divine Couple. It is highly beneficial to visit Narad-Kunda.
