When Bhrigu struck the Lord’s chest with his foot, the Lord did not become angry at the insult; instead, He honored Bhriguji. Yet when He learned that Durvasa had committed an offense against His devotee Ambariṣ, He closed His ears and dispatched the Sudarśana Cakra to slay Durvāsā. The Lord cannot even hear of an offense against His devotee, and He can never tolerate anyone transgressing against them.
