Surabhi Kunda, Goverdhan - Divine Pastimes

Surabhi Kunda, Goverdhan - Divine Pastimes

Surabhi Kund lies on the right-hand side of the Goverdhan Parikrama path, going further you can find Raghava Pandit’s cave, and on the other side Rudra Kunda etc. Surabhi bathed Shri Govinda at Govinda Kunda with the milk from her udder, when Indra requested. Later, out of a strong desire to have the glimpse of Shri Krishn's cow herding pastimes, and especially of the Divine Couple Shri Radha Krishn's confidential pastimes in the Nikunjas, Surabhi dwelt here for the duration of Shri Krishn's manifest pastimes in Braj. This lies in Goverdhan. Vajranabha, the great grandson of Shri Krishn, established this Surabhi-Kunda in her memory. By bathing and performing achamana here, all one’s sins, offenses and unwanted desires (anarthas) are dispelled and one obtains love of Braj.
