In this verse, Swami Shri Haridas Ji Maharaj, offering guidance to all beings, says, “O brother! As long as you are alive in this world, forsake all worldly entanglements and focus solely on the devotion to Shri Hari.” [1]

What can you take to the afterlife from the fleeting praise, criticisms, and applause of this world? These worldly acknowledgments hold no significance in the hereafter. [2]
You are immersed in disputes of the city, transient wealth, and the pride of virtues and youth, forgetting to remember the name of Shri Hari, the source of unparalleled joy. [3]
Finally, Swami Haridas laments that souls are so deeply entangled by greed and the illusion of Maya that even the teachings of saints, or God Himself, fail to guide them toward Shri Bihariji, the true spiritual goal. [4]
