(Raag Kalyan)
Jagat Preeti Kari Dekhi Naahinein Gati Kau Kou. [1]
Chhatrapati Rank Laun Dekhe Prakriti Birodh Banyon Nahin Kou. [2]
Din Jo Gaye Bahut Janamani Ke Aisen Jau Jini Kou. [3]
Kahein Shriharidas Meet Bhale Paaye Bihari Aisau Paavau Sab Kou. [4]
- Lalita Avatar Shri Swami Haridas Ji, Ashtadash Pada (15)
In this verse, Swami Shri Haridas Ji beautifully describes the transient nature of the world and worldly love, bound by selfishness.
Swami Haridas Ji explains that worldly love has been tested and found to be lacking. No true love exists, even between sons, wives, husbands, and friends. These relationships last only as long as they serve someone’s selfish needs. [1]
From the king to the beggar, all are driven by selfish motives, and devoid of genuine love. True, selfless love is against the nature of this material world. How, then, can pure love exist here? [2]
Now, he prays to Hari, expressing that our uncountable lives have been wasted expecting love from worldly relationships, where no one understands real love. Now he no longer wishes to waste even a single moment in such selfish love. [3]
Swami Haridas Ji expresses that he has now found Shri Banke Bihari Ji Maharaj, the crown jewel of divine love, who is eternally immersed in the bliss of love and showers selfless affection. In receiving this boundless love, he feels truly fulfilled. He prays that others too may be blessed to discover Shri Bihari Ji, the infinite ocean of love. [4]
