Bhagwat Niwas was established by Shri Kripasindhu Das Baba about 80 years ago around 1945. Shri Kripasindhu Das Baba was blessed by Siddha Shri Pandit Baba (Shri Ram Krishna Das Baba). Once upon a time, when Pandit Baba was staying in Dauji ka Bagicha, he told Kripasindhu Das Baba, "After my disappearance, the devotees will leave Dauji ka Bagicha." In 1940, after the disappearance of Siddha Shri Pandit Baba, Kripasindhu Das Baba established Bhagwat Niwas in front of Dauji Ka Bagicha for his dependent saints and devotees.
Thakur Shri Girindra Bihari ji is seated in Bhagwat Niwas. He is the worshipful deity of Shri Raghunath das Goswami ji. When Mahaprabhu Shri Chaitanya came to Braj, he had taken a rock of Govardhan with him. After some time Chaitanya Mahaprabhu gave that Govardhan rock to Shri Raghunathdas Goswami ji. This is the rock that was installed in Bhagwat Niwas, which is called Thakur Shri Girindra Bihari ji.
Bhagwat Niwas is dedicated to the pure devotees and saints of Vrindavan Dham. About 50-100 saints used to reside here and used to perform bhajans with full discipline. The age of the saints living here is between 25-90 years. This place is covered with ancient trees and vines, where peacocks and birds always reside. The discourses of Shrimad Bhagwat take place daily here. The Karua (water pot) of Siddha Shri Pandit Baba is kept here, with the desire to have darshan of which thousands of devotees come.
