The love of the sakhīs of the nitya-vihāra is even more overflowing with love-rasa than the mutual love of Śrī Rādhā and Śrī Kṛṣṇa. These sakhīs are so deeply immersed and anchored in their own mode of rasa that no rules, social decorums, or scriptural injunctions can ever touch them. Their love is beyond all bondages, completely untouched by the desire for personal happiness, and is situated solely in the happiness of the Divine Couple.
