Location:
Kadambkhandi is located in Kamyavana (Kama) while going towards Unchagaon (near Barsana) through the secluded forests.
Pastimes:
This place is famous as “Kadamb Khandi” because it has a vast grove of kadamba trees. This is also famous as a bhajana sthali of a great saint of Braj, Shri Nagaji Maharaj of Nimbaraka sect.
One can also see Panihari Kund, Krishn Kund, place of Shri Krishn’s swing pastimes and Shri Vallabh’s baithak here.
Shri Nagaji Maharaj performed Bhajana here in Kadambkhandi at this secluded place. His previous name was Chatura Chintamani and he was born in Payagaon in Braj. Shri Nagaji used to go to 84Kos parikrama daily, comes back to Kadambkhandi after taking prasada of Radharani Mangala arti Bhog.
He had very long matted hair, which on some occasion became entangled in a thorny bush, here near to this place. Shri Krishn assumed a form of a 5-7 Year old boy, and said, “Baba! May I resolve Your entangled hair”? Baba said: “Go away! Whoever has entangled this will only resolve it”. Three days were passed, even Lord Krishn was also tired of persuading him. After that, Lord Krishna (with his beautiful flute in his hand) originated from that boy. Lord Krishna then said - Dear Baba! Let me resolve your hairs.
Baba suddenly said - don't touch, stay away. Nitya Nikunj Shri Krishna cannot live without Radha Rani for even a single second and you are standing here alone.
Later Shri Vrishbhanu Nandini, Vrindavaneshwari, Shri Radha Rani came in front of baba and said - oh baba ! See now we both are here. With the presence of both (yugal sarkar) baba was amazed to see them. Near by is the samadhi of Nagababa as well.
Nagaji worshipped Shri Banke Bihari deity here which His Guru gave him almost 250 years ago in the 17th century. During the mughal empire, Auranghzeb destroyed many temples; at that time, Banke Bihari deity is shifted to Bharatpur from Kama. In Bharatpur, a grand temple is established where Shri Banke Bihari resided thereafter and is worshipped even today. Shri Banke Bihari Ki Jai.
