Prabhu More Avagun Chit Na Dharo.
Samdarshi Hai Naam Tiharo Chahe to Paar Karo. [1]
Ek Loha Pooja Mein Raakhat, Ek Ghar Badhik Paryo.
Paaras Gun Avagun Nahi Dekhat, Kanchan Karat Kharo. [2]
Ek Nadiya Ek Naal Kahave Mailo Neer Bharo.
Jab Dou Mil Ke Ek Baran Bhaye, Sursari Naam Paryo. [3]
Ek Maya Ek Brahma Kahavat, Soor Shyam Jhagaro.
Abki Ber Mohi Paar Utaaro, Nahi Pan Jaat Taro. [4]
- Shri Surdas, Sur Sagar
O Lord, please ignore my faults. You are known as impartial and love everyone equally, If you wish then kindly bestow Your grace upon me. [1]
There is an iron that is used in the holy worships while there is another that lies with a brutal butcher. O Lord, You are like that "Paras" (a stone that is characterized by turning all ferrous objects into golden ones) which doesn’t look which iron it is whereas converts all the iron [without differentiating] to pure gold simply by touching it. [2]
On one side there is a river and on another, there is a gutter filled with dirty water. When both of them meet together with Ganga, they both are known as Ganga, the holy river. Ganga Ji doesn't differentiate between the two. [3]
There is one entity known as Maya, and another entity known as ‘Brahm’ (i.e a soul is pure, Brahma himself, however under the impact of Maya it cannot reach God), However, there is so much dispute, O Lord, I am confused and dependent upon You for Your mercy, now this time, don’t delay it! I can’t cross this ocean of this material world by myself [i.e without Your grace]. [4]
