Surbhi Kund, Govardhan

Surbhi Kund, Govardhan

Pastimes :
When the people of Braj started worshiping Govardhan at the behest of Shri Krishn, Indra got angry and started raining heavily and the Braj Dham started getting submerged in water. For the protection of all, Shri Krishn lifted the Govardhan mountain on his little finger. After raining 7 days and nights, Indra repented of his mistake. Then on the orders of Mother Aditi, Indra came to Shri Krishn with Mother Surabhi to apologize and praised Shri Krishn with many verses. With the prayer of Indra, Mother Surbhi anointed Shri Krishn with the milk of her udder. Later, out of a strong desire to have darshan of Shri Krishn's cow herding pastimes, and especially of the Divine Couple Shri Radha Krishn's confidential pastimes in the Nikunjas, Surbhi dwelt here for the duration of Shri Krishn's manifest pastimes in Braj. Shri Vajranabh established this Surbhi Kund in her memory. By bathing and performing achaman (taking a sip of water) here, all one's sins, offenses, and anarthas (unwanted desires) are dispelled and one obtains the divine love of Braj.
Here is the samadhi of the great poet of Ashtachap, Shri Parmanand Das Ji.

Evam Krishnamupaaman‍try Surabhih Payasaatmanah.
