Some people proudly display their kaṇṭhī (tulasī neck beads) and janeū (sacred thread), presenting themselves as belonging to a high lineage. Yet their intentions and actions clearly reveal the lineage and caste to which they truly belong. A person’s true identity is defined solely by their character, conduct, and purity of the heart. In the path of bhakti, one should avoid hypocrisy, for pride in one's caste and lineage is itself an obstacle to devotion.
