Birth :
Shri Vallabharasik Ji is estimated to have been born around 1600. His father was Shri Gadadhar Bhatt Ji, a well-known Rasik of the Gaudiya sect. His elder brother was Shri Rasikottans, whose composition 'Prem-Pattanam' is very famous.
Initiation :
Shri Vallabharasik Ji had received initiation from his father Shri Gadadhara Bhatt Ji.
The subject of the compositions of Shri Vallabharasik Ji:
The main subject of the compositions of Vallabharasik Ji is the eternal love-play (Nitya Vihar) of Shri Radha Krishn. His spirit and style are particularly similar to those of other great Rasik Acharyas of Vrindavan, mainly in the Sakhi or Sahchari bhava. Vallabharasik Ji has sung the same pastimes which are desired by the Rasiks of Vrindavan. He never even took the name of separation in His padas. He was so immersed in the worship of Shri Radha Krishn residing in the palace that he never even know to cross the courtyard of the palace.
Of all the pastimes of Shri Krishn, he has accepted only the nectareous pastimes of Vrindavan. For this, even if the inhabitants of the Braj criticize him, Vallabharasik Ji will be happy -
Ham Jugal Mahal Ras Linda,
Kunj Alinda Ulanghi Na Janain. [1]
Ras Darinda Vrindavangan
Charitan Hu Gahi Chhanain. [2]
Van Ke Vasinda Sab Ninda Karen,
Su Ko Man Anain ? [3]
Vallabharasik Chuninda Bin Ko
Ninda Sukh Pahichanain. [4]
- Shri Vallabh Rasik, Shri Vallabh Rasik Ji Ki Vani, Sada Ki Maanjh (23)
The state of the heart of Shri Vallabharasik Ji :
Vallabharasik Ji was the exclusive Rasik of the personal palace of Shri Radha Krishn. He always embraced Shri Radha Krishn and felt happiness. He knows that the body of his beloved divine couple is the radiance of pure love, the whole world is also illumined by that love. He remains so absorbed in the nectar of Vrindavan of the divine couple that He renounced the Vedas and decorum of the world.
Aathau Pahar Rahain Matavaare.
Lok Ved in Sabai Bisaare.
Khelani Mein Shelen.
Doun Kee Jhelani Ras Jhelen.
Lok Ved in Sabai Bisaare.
Khelani Mein Shelen.
Doun Kee Jhelani Ras Jhelen.
Shri Vallabh Rasik says, whoever criticizes the divine and pure love of Shri Radha Krishn, is an animal. Vallabharasik does not even want to listen to their words, he embraces his beloved Shri Shyamashyam without any hesitation.
Jinake Deh Neh Paripuran Te Jagmagaat Jag Mahin.
Jin Darasen Jin Parase Chikane Rom Rom Hvai Jahin.
Narpasu Daag Lagan Ur Jinaki Baaten Sunat Daraahin.
Vallabharasik Nisank Ank Bhari Bhari Tin Son Laptaahin.
Composition :
His compositions are compiled in a granth “Vallabh Rasik Ji Ki Vani”. In the compositions of Vallabharasik Ji, the firm and beautiful principle of the worship of divine couple is described. Along with this, he has sung the verses of Hindora (swing), Pavitra, Varshaganth (anniversary), Sanjhi, Dussehra, Diwali, Holi, Basant, Phuldol, Chandan Yatra, Rath Yatra, Ras ki Manjh, Gulab Ki Manjh, Jal Krida (water-play), Varsha (rain), Surat-Ullaas and Nityotsav (eternal celebration). He has often presented himself in the form of a Sakhi in his composition and has named himself Vallabh-Rasik-Sakhi.
A compilation of all the verses of Vallabharasik Ji has been published by Baba Krishnadas Ji.
The deepness of the composition :
The verses of the principle of Vallabharasik Ji are equally wonderful as the verses of the divine pastimes. The elegance and punctuation of language in poetry are scattered everywhere and his natural authority over language is reflected. For ordinary educated people, his poetry can also become a puzzle, but those who are versed in the worship of Shri Radha Krishn can know how Vallabharasik Ji goes on opening the layers of his inner feelings and emotions one after the other. The feeling is very esoteric and intense. Somewhere his poetry has become intellectual like Ghananand's because of its esoteric. In 'Barah Baat Atharah Painde' (a verse), Vallabharasik Ji has presented the real introduction of his worship, his Sakhi form, and the pleasure of the Sakhis. He says -
Vallabharasik Sahchari Vani. Jugal Lagan Asav Son Saani.
Madmatvari Ankhiyani Baanchau. Madmatvari Ki Ankhiyani Baanchau.
The verses of the Rasik devotees contain the divine love of Shri Radha Krishn.
A glance at the love of Shri Shyamashyam mentioned by Shri Vallabhrasik Ji :
The basis of the mutual love of Shri Shyamashyam is the greed of Shri Krishn's heart and the luster of Shri Radha's body. Vallabharasik Ji has said that every limb of Shri Krishn's body is greedy for Shri Radha's body, whose beauty is indescribable. The nature of this greed and beauty is unique -
Lobh Sane Sab Ang Piya Ke.
Gobh Sane Sab Ang Tiya Ke.
Gobh Lobh Son Ani Hi Sani.
Lobh Lagan Baanani Ki Ani.
Every part of Shri Krishn's body is mixed with greed, every part of Shri Radha's body is mixed with beauty, and the land is mixed with both greed and beauty.
The pleasure for the eyes of Shri Vallabharasik Ji :
The love-play of the divine couple remains indulge in a similar kind of nectar which is Vihara rasa. When the beauty showers, the mind becomes free but again gets trapped in greed. Vallabharasik Ji finds the happiness of the eyes in this -
Nain Phuhaare Roop Ke, Roop-Roop Bandhi Jaahin.
Inaki Chhutani Mein Bandhani, Phir Nainani Ka Aahin.
Chhuti Bandhani Mein Bandhi-Bandhi Chhutain.
Vallabharasik Nain-Sukh Lootain.
Compositions:
Shri Vallabhrasik Ji Ki Vani [Vallabharasik Ji's text] is a source of joy, whose unbroken flow is capable of infusing the poets and the literary alike. Below one of his verses is given for example, in which the eyes of Vallabharasik Sakhi are also swinging along with the beloved divine couple Shri Radha Krishn, who are swinging in the nectar of love -
Aaju Dou Jhulan Rati Ras Saanein.
Thaade Sachkain Lachaki Taruni Ke, Gahi Phal-Phulahin Aane.
Suhe Pat Paharain Dvai Patuli, Baithe Saamal Gori.
Alinu Rangili Tiy Pad Anguli Piy Dori Sang Jori.
Shyam Kaam Bas Jhuli-Jhuli Pag Mulani Jhulani Badhaahin.
Kaamini Charan Taanras Chhuti Ali Kaam Luti Machi Jaahin.
Jovan Madhi Jovan-Mad Jhalaye Jhulani Phandani Jaane.
Vallabharasik Sakhi Ke Naina Ehi Jhulani Jhulaane.
Today both Shri Radha Krishn immersed in the love for each other are swinging.
