- Shri Surdas

Shri Surdas Ji says - O, the Protector of the cows, Lord Krishn! I am badly tired now of traveling all through the 8.4 million forms of life by wearing a robe of lust and anger and putting a garland of sensual pleasures around my neck. [1]

My anklets are made up of illusion (darkness) that are experts in producing the sound of censuring. My deluded mind is like a mridanga who always walk in the direction opposite to God and saints. [2]

The desires are producing sound, with many kinds of rhythms within the heart. The waist let is made up of Maya which is tied in the waist, and I have applied the tilak of greed on the forehead. [3]

I have taken many kinds of birth by assuming various forms in water as well as in the land (from uncountable times) which is impossible to remember. O Krishn, Now you please have some grace upon me, and destroy this delusion. [4]
