In Govardhan, there is Sutalvan (forest) in front of Apsara Kund, and Sutal Kund is nearby to that place. In the vicinity of this kund is Shri Nathji temple, which is less than a hundred years old. Mani Kandali cave lies in front of Shri Nathji temple.
It is believed that Shri Radha Krishn used to perform sweet pastimes in this cave. As of now, the cave's mouth has closed. Gaudiya Vaishnava Shri Raghav Pandit, a close associate of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, used to perform bhajan in this cave. Hence the name of this cave became Raghav Pandit's cave. Shri Raghav Pandit knew most of the places of pastimes of Shri Krishn in Braj. He is described as Shri Champaklata Sakhi, one of the eight main gopis in the "Gaur Ganoddesa Deepika". Srila Jiva Goswami had accompanied Srinivasacharya, Srila Narottama Thakur, and Sri Shyamananda Prabhu to circumambulate the Braj. He was the ultimate philosopher and high-order Vaishnava as mentioned in "Bhakti Ratnakar". There is also a symbol of Shri Krishna's crown on the Govardhan mountain near this cave.
Shri Ram Krishna Das Baba (Pandit Baba) has also performed bhajan in this cave as per the order of Shri Krishn.
