Na Bachyo Koi Veda Puran Padhe,
Na Bachyo Koi Sees Rakhay Jata. [1]
Na Bachyo Koi Jangalvas Kiye,
Na Bachyo Koi Oonchi Chinay Aṭa. [2]
Swarth Ko Parivar Basyo,
Ye Chaar Dina Ke Hain Thaath Thaṭa. [3]
Bhaj Le ‘Hare Krishna’ Aree Rasne,
Tohi Gherat Aavat Kaal Ghatta. [4]
- Dandi Swami Shri Hare Krishnanand Sarasvati ‘Hare Krishn’
Neither those who read the Vedas and Purāṇas were spared,
Nor those who grew matted locks upon their heads. [1]
Neither were those who dwelled in the forests spared,
Nor those who raised tall mansions. [2]
This entire world is governed by selfishness, where even family members are ruled by self-interest, and their fleeting pleasures last only for a few short days. [3]
Śrī Hare Kṛṣṇa says, O tongue, chant the holy name of God, for the storm clouds of death are gathering fast. [4]
