(Raag Ramkali)
Lochan Bhaye Shyam Ke Chere,
Aite Pai Sukh Paavat Kotik, Motan Pheri Na Here. [1]
Haaha Karat Parat Hari Charanani, Aise Bas Bhaye Unhi,
Unko Badan Vilokat Nisi-Din, Merau Kahyo Na Sunhi. [2]
Lalit Tribhangi Chhavi Par Atke, Phatke Moson Tori,
‘Sur’ Dasa Yah Meri Kinhī, Aapun Hari Saun Jori. [3]
- Shri Surdas, Sura Sagara
My eyes have become servants of the enchanting form of Shyamasundar. In this sweet bondage, they find such joy that they no longer even glance back at me. [1]
I begged them, prayed at the Lord’s lotus feet, but they remain forever lost in His darshan, deaf to my voice. [2]
So enchanted are they by His elegant ‘tribhangi’ (threefold-curved) form that they’ve broken all ties with me. Shri Surdas says: These eyes, devoted only to Him, have left me utterly helpless. [3]
