- Shri Sundardas Ji

Some smear ashes on their bodies, some go completely naked as digambaras. [1]

Some wear white ascetic robes, some dye garments made of wood fiber in various colors. [2]

Some keep matted hair atop their heads, wear bark garments, and grow long nails. Some dress in tiger skins to appear fierce and detached. [3]

Sundar Jī says—without true knowledge of the Supreme and sincere devotion in the heart, all these outward practices are nothing but pretense and show. [4]
