Ananya Vrat Khaande Keesi Dhaar.
It-Ut Dagat Jagat Hit Tehari, Pheri Na Karat Samhaar. [1]
Kaha Gyaasi Kul-Karmani Chhade, Jolagi Vishay Vikaar.
Binu Premahi, Na Prasad Nem Tahan, Hari Na Grahat Jyaun Nar. [2]
Kaun Kaam Keerati Binu Preetihi, Ganikaa Kaiso Jaar.
Vyaasdas Ki Pati Gati Naasai, Gayein Paraaye Dwaar. [3]
- Shri Hariram Vyas, Vyas Vani, Purvardh (175)
The vow of ‘Ananyta’ (exclusive devotion) is as subtle and sharp as the edge of a sword. If the mind wavers here and there and slips into worldly attachments, even though Hari is the well-wisher of all, He does not uphold such wavering devotion. [1]
What use is it to abandon social or family norms if the mind remains trapped in sensual cravings? Without love, neither rituals nor offerings (prasada) hold meaning, for Hari accepts only devotion filled with heartfelt bhava. Just as a husband will not accept an unfaithful wife, Hari too rejects loveless worship or rituals. [2]
Fame without love is empty, like lying in the arms of a prostitute, where no real love exists, only selfish desire. Sri Hariram Vyas says: when a wife goes to another’s door, her fidelity perishes; likewise, devotion loses its essence when 'Ananyta' is broken. [3]
