(Raag Kalyan)
Brindaban Khelat Hari Hori.
Bajat Taal Mridang Jhanjh Daf, Nand Lala Vrishbhanu Kishori. [1]
Haun Apnai Grih Tain Nikasi Sakhi, Saas Ki Traas Nanad Ki Chori.
Aur Sakhi Sab Chhandi Syaam Mo, Kar Marori Pahunchi Gahi Tori. [2]
Syaam Baran Ati Sundar Sanwaro, Kanak Badan Radhe Tanu Gori.
Surdas Ke Prabhu Doou Raajat, Paaras Kanchan Ki Si Jori. [3]
- Sri Surdas, Soor Sagar
In Vṛndāvana, Lord Hari (Śrī Kṛṣṇa) is joyfully playing Holī. The rhythms of tāla, mṛdaṅga (a double-sided drum), jhāñjha (cymbals), and ḍapha (tambourine) are being played in every direction, as Nandalāla (Kṛṣṇa) and Vṛṣabhānu-kiśorī (Rādhā) together celebrate the festival in delight. [1]
O sakhī! With great difficulty, I escaped my house, avoiding the watchful eyes of my mother-in-law and sister-in-law. There, Śyāmsundara left aside all the other sakhīs and grabbed only my hand, gently twisting it in loving mischief. [2]
Sūradāsa says: the dark handsome Kṛṣṇa and molten gold like Rādhā, shine together like the touchstone and gold paired as one. [3]
