O soul! Why have you abandoned the chanting of the divine Name of the Lord? You did not renounce your inner anger or the habit of speaking falsehood, yet why did you forsake the path of truth? [1]
By allowing your mind to be enticed by the illusions of this false, mortal world, why have you forgotten your true eternal abode? You have carefully preserved trivial worldly objects that are as worthless as cowries, yet why have you discarded the priceless ruby of the Lord's Name? [2]
Why have you abandoned that remembrance of the Lord which bestows supreme bliss and happiness? Śrī Khālas Jī says, why have you not, placing your sole trust in the Lord, surrendered your body, mind, and wealth at His lotus-feet? [3]
