- Shri Gadadhar Bhatt Ji, Shri Gadadhar Bhatt Ji Ki Vani (2)

O Śrī Hari! When will Your compassionate heart finally turn toward me? In this entire world, there is no one but You who can break the powerful chains of delusion in which I am so tightly bound. [1]

Lust, greed, and their cruel companions have become ruthless hunters. Together they have encircled the helpless doe of my mind and understanding from every direction, leaving her no avenue of escape. [2]

These hunters have come close and laid a snare of false hopes, and they repeatedly push my mind into that net, making it spin in bewilderment. [3]

By following the wrong path, this doe-like mind has become trapped amid countless thorn-filled calamities. So distressed and entangled has it become that it cannot find even the slightest path by which to flee toward the cool and comforting shelter of Your bhajana. [4]

Meanwhile, outward show, religious pretence, and hypocrisy have spread so widely that the shelter of genuine satsaṅga seems far beyond reach. Śrī Gadādhara Jī therefore cries, “O my Lord! If Your causeless mercy does not descend upon me, by what other means could this helpless soul ever be delivered?” [5]
