(Kavitt)
Talan Pai, Taal Pai, Tamalan Pai, Malan Pai,
Vrindavan-Bithin Bihar Bansibat Pai. [1]
Kahai 'Padmakar' Akhand Raas-Mandal Pai,
Mandit Umand Maha Kalindi Ke Tat Pai. [2]
Chhiti Par, Chhaan Par, Chhajjat Chhatan Par,
Lalit Latan Par, Ladili Ke Lat Pai. [3]
Aai, Bhalai Chhaai, Ye Sarad-Junhai,
Jihi Paai Chhabi Ajahi Kanhai Ke Mukut Pai. [4]
- Shri Padmakar
The bright moonlight of the Śarada (autumn) season has spread everywhere—upon the lakes, over the palm and tamāla trees, upon the garlands, in the lanes of Vṛndāvana, and throughout the vihāra site of Baṁśīvaṭa. [1]
Poet Padmākara says that this divine moonlight is radiantly overflowing in all its beauty across the entire rāsa-maṇḍala and upon the sacred banks of Śrī Yamunā Jī. [2]
It lies scattered upon the land, upon the thatched roofs, across the luster of the balconies, upon the beautiful vines, and over the delicate locks of hair of Śrī Lāḍilī Jī. [3]
This moonlight of Śarada Pūrṇimā has spread all around in the most exquisite manner, yet it has attained its ultimate splendor today only upon alighting on the crown of Śrī Kṛṣṇa. [4]
