Shri Lalit Kishori Ji (1825-1873) who was previously known as Kundanlal shah was a great Rasik devotee of the Gaudiya Sect, who left his hometown Lucknow and came to Vrindavan due to excessive love in his heart and devoted his everything to Shri Radharaman Lal Ji. He had built a huge temple near Nidhivan, which is now called Shahji's temple. All his compositions are compiled in 'Abhilash Madhuri'.

Wander through the lanes of Śrī Vṛndāvana Dhāma like one madly absorbed in the love of Śyāmā-Śyāma. O sakhī! Even if someone asks you something along the way, reply only by uttering “Śyāmā-Śyāma”; otherwise, remain silent.
Śrī Vṛndāvana Dhāma is absolutely enchanting, and the sacred land of Braja is supremely delightful. The Names of Śyāmā-Śyāma are supremely auspicious and enchanting, and Their divine abode is the very temple of bliss itself.
O brother, do not even in a dream contemplate the thought of going to any other place or land. Where else can one find such a supremely divine place as Śrī Vṛndāvana, where the divine Couple eternally perform Their nitya-vihāra? Therefore, never lose this most blessed fortune of residing in this holy land.
May I become a bee in the groves of Vṛndāvana upon the banks of Kāliyadaha, dwelling upon the branches of the trees. Or may I become a parrot or a cuckoo in Nidhīvana, continuously singing the sweet Name “Rādhā.”
When will my beloved Lāḍilī (Śrī Rādhā) shower Her grace upon me, so that I may dwell forever within the sacred realm of Śrī Vṛndāvana? When will I behold with these very eyes the incomparable and magnificent beauty of the Divine Couple, Śyāmā-Śyāma?
Let the mind be fully absorbed in the holy name “Śrī Rādhā.” With pure, loving intent, inscribe the name Rādhā upon the inner paper of your heart.
In divine rasa of Vrindavan, Rādhā assumed lordship, Kṛṣṇa took servitude. Both surrendered their hearts and their entire being to one another, so completely that their minds became one. O friend, is the supreme secret of the prem-rīti (mode of love).
O Sri Radha! Who else in this vast universe could be so merciful that, merely by uttering half of Your name, “Ra” from “Rādhā,” You remove the darkness from the hearts of Your surrendered ones?
When will that blessed moment arrive when I become a cuckoo, sweetly singing from a tree in some secluded grove by the Yamunā in Vrindavan? Or, becoming a bumblebee at the lotus feet of Śrī Rādhā-Kṛṣṇa, may I softly hum sweet melodies in Their loving service?
Whether as an insect, a moth, an ant, a monkey, a bumblebee, or even a peacock — grant me any form that pleases You. O Divine Couple! Bless me to become one with the dust of Vṛndāvan, ever resting at Your holy lotus feet.
O Pyārījū! There is no fault in You — Your grace is boundless. The fault lies entirely within me, for I am nothing but a massive bundle of sins.
O Lalit Kishori (Shri Radha), please grant me the grace to become anything in the pathways of Braj — a bird, animal, stone, a blade of grass, or even a speck of dust. Even as a well, a stepwell, or a lifeless object, my only prayer is to never be born or dwell outside the dust of Braj-dham.
O Swamini, Shri Kunj Viharini (Sri Radha)! Kindly take heed of me quickly. I know nothing of the mode of your service, so please forgive my faults.
Shri Krishna sells Himself only to those who are completely absorbed in the loving devotion of Sri Radha’s lotus feet. To such premi-bhaktas, out of pure love, He willingly offers Himself, becoming as if a sold servant—without expecting any price in return.
The separation from the divine couple, Shri Radha Krishna, who perform Nitya Vihara, is now unbearable. Shri Lalita Kishori humbly pleads, O Sri Radha! Please bestow your grace and grant me residence in Shri Vrindavan.
O Swamini, I am truly the crown among the fallen. Though the world calls me Yours, still, like the ungrateful, I wander aimlessly, without even a trace of shame.
O Shri Radha! Nothing I do ever turns out right. I have always been full of faults — wickedness is deeply rooted within me.
When will I become a dark Tamal tree in the sacred Seva Kunj of Shri Vrindavan, so that the Divine Couple, Shri Shyama-Shyam, may rest while holding my tender vines during their love-filled leelas?
O Shri Radharani, please grant me the divine vision of the sacred groves of Shri Vrindavan Dham. Let the dust of your lotus-marked feet, which has graced the forest pathways, touch and sanctify my entire being.
Sri Radha’s beloved, Shri Krishna, is extremely dear to my heart. Adorned with a peacock feather crown, wearing yellow garments (Pitambar), holding a stick, with an enchanting swaying gait, He appears as the playful Lord.
