Even if a lamb longs to become a lion, desire alone can never make it one. A true lion breaks down every fence that surrounds it. How can one who remains entangled in numerous religious formalities, ritual observances, scriptural injunctions and prohibitions, sectarian identity, or other external bonds ever be compared to those exclusive rasikas whose resolve is as firm as that of a lion? A true rasika is one who has broken every other bond and established an exclusive relationship with Śrī Priyā-Priyatama alone.

  2. Nami Nam Na Bhave - Shri Biharin Dev Ji Ki Vani, Siddhant Ki Saakhi (132)

In the rasa-upāsanā of Svāmī Haridāsa Jī, the divine couple are so completely absorbed, through body, mind, thought, and every pore of Their being, that nothing other than uninterrupted nitya-vihāra (love-play) pleases Them, not even the hearing of Their own Names. For Śyāmā-Kuñjabihārī, nitya-vihāra alone is the very life and soul.

  3. Balihari Jaun Jak Par - Shri Biharin Dev Ji Ki Vani, Siddhant Ki Saakhi (660)

O Bihārīdāsa! The speakers of Śrīmad Bhāgavatam often speak sweet and nectarine words and repeatedly offer prostrations (daṇḍavata), yet their hidden aim is to sustain themselves and their families through the offerings they receive. In contrast, Śrī Śukadeva Jī Mahārāja, in every word of the Bhāgavatam, has taught renunciation of worldly attachments and exclusive devotion to the lotus feet of the Lord. How surprising that such speakers fail to perceive its true essence.

  4. Kaam Na Aave Kaun Hu - Shri Biharin Dev Ji Ki Vani, Siddhant Ki Saakhi (364)

Many people remain entangled throughout their lives in notions of saparasa and aparas, or in external practices and rituals. At the moment of death, nothing proves of any use. Only the pure love offered to the Lord sustains; nothing else. That love alone has the power to carry the soul across the vast ocean of illusion.

  5. Mansa Baacha Karmana - Shri Biharin Dev Ji Ki Vani, Siddhant Ki Saakhi (121)

Through mind, words, deeds, and with one’s entire sense of self, one should offer oneself solely unto Śrī Nitya-Vihāriṇī Jū (Śrī Rādhā). Empowered by this very rasa, attaining the state of a maidservant of Śrī Vihāriṇī Jū and entering Her captivating sway, that Śrī Vihāriṇī-Dāsī manifests in Śrī Nikuñja-Mahāl as a source of happiness to Śrī Priyā Herself.

  6. Jeto Antar Vaas Mein Teto Jaan Upaas- Shri Biharin Dev Ji Ki Vani, Siddhant Ki Saakhi (603)

Attaining Shri Vrindavan Dham is equivalent to attaining the worshipful Lord Himself. Separation from Vrindavan is separation from the Lord. Yet if someone claims, “I have lived in Vrindavan and felt nothing,” Shri Biharini Dev replies: ‘O brother! Your residence in Vrindavan is only partially genuine. The rest of your mind is still filled with desires and greed, and that is why you are not experiencing the true essence of Vrindavan. Otherwise, the attainment of Vrindavan is indeed the direct attainment of the Beloved Deity.’

  7. Ati Tondik Ati Chikniyan - Shri Biharin Dev Ji Ki Vani, Siddhant Ki Saakhi (139)

Shri Krishna, in Braj, is naturally adorned with grandeur, elegance, and supreme splendor, filled with divine majesty. However, in the secluded bowers of Nikunj, as Kunja Bihari, He cares neither for His grandeur nor His lordly status. There, He remains surrendered at the lotus feet of Shri Priya Ji (Shri Radha), eagerly yearning for Her sacred prasad remnants.

  8. Pran Palit Paayni Paren Parseen Hot Nihal - Shri Biharin Dev Ji Ki Vani, Siddhant Ki Saakhi (142)

How can one describe the extraordinary love and devotion of Shri Lalji (Shri Krishna)? His very life is sustained solely by remaining perpetually at the lotus feet of Shri Pyariju (Shri Radha), where he experiences boundless bliss in the ceaseless touch of those divine feet. In this state of divine love of the couple, the sakhis tenderly serve the ever-new bride and groom, immersing themselves in the eternal love-plays of Nitya Vihara Rasa.

  9. Naam Roop Vin Gun Kaha - Shri Biharin Dev Ji Ki Vani, Siddhant Ki Saakhi (640)

In the ‘Akhand Nitya Vihar’ (uninterrupted eternal love-play) rasa bestowed by Shri Swami Haridas Ji, there is exclusive devotion to one deity (Shri Bihari Biharini Ju) and consistent observance of the same spiritual practice every day. This means that the prasad always remains the prasad. It is not that the prasad is received on regular days; on Ekadashi, it is considered food and thus rejected. Ananya Rasikas does not make such distinctions.

  10. Naam Roop Vin Gun Kaha - Shri Biharin Dev Ji Ki Vani, Siddhant Ki Saakhi (504)

Without a thorough assessment of ‘Guna’ (qualities), ‘Naam’ (name) and ‘Roop’ (form) appear identical and indistinguishable, much like saffron and safflower which look similar until their properties are examined. (i.e. while doing devotion with either name or form, one must contemplate the attributes of God)
