Kabir Das (1398/1440 – 1448/1518) was a 15th-century Indian mystic poet and saint, whose writings influenced Hinduism's Bhakti movement and his verses are found in Sikhism's scripture Guru Granth Sahib and Kabir Sagar.

O mind! The true purpose of attaining this human body is to constantly engage in the devotion of Śrī Kṛṣṇa Murāri. The real happiness of human life lies in devotion to the Lord, for this rare opportunity is not attained again and again.
The yogi’s mind remains untouched by the hue of love; only his clothes have been dyed. Sitting cross-legged in the temple, he gazes at the idol, yet fails to perceive the divine presence within it, or to recognize that God resides in every heart. Instead, he worships the idol merely as a piece of stone.
This is the house of love, not a mere joke. Entry is granted to those who place their head on the ground.
One may count the beads through the hands, and chant the name through the tongue, but if the mind is roaming in the four directions of this material world, then it is not called ‘Sumiran’ (devotion). True Devotion is when one’s mind is totally engrossed in God.
The lotus blooms in the water and the moon exists in the sky. But when the reflection of the moon shines in the water, despite being so far away, it is very near. In the same way, the one who dwells in the mind, no matter how far he is but is in fact very near.
Shri Kabirdas says, O mind! Your precious life is wasted in only talks, when will you chant “Krishn”?
Why do you chant “Kabira Kabira”; go to the bank of Shri Yamuna [in vrindavan] and see where millions of Kabirs can be sacrificed upon the love of each Gopi.
