Shyama Sakhi (Sanam Sahab) was born in a Muslim family in 1883 in Alwar, Rajasthan. He was named Mohammad Yakub. He became a disciple of Shri Saras Madhuri Sharan Ji in the Shuka sect and used to worship Shri Shyama-Shyam day and night.
