Shri Kumbhandas was one of the original 84 disciples of Shri Vallabhacharyaji in early 1500. He lived in a village named Jamunavata located in Braj. He was the Astachap poet of Pushtimarg or Vallabh Sampraday.

Shri Kumbhandas Ji was born on the 11th day in the month of Chaitra (March-April) in year year 1499 in a village called Jamunavata near Govardhan. He was born in a royal Kshatriya clan.
