Shri Vanshi Ali

Shri Vanshi Ali (1707 - 1765 AD) was a Rasik saint of Vrindavan who is believed to be initiated by Shri Lalita Sakhi herself. Shri Lalita Sakhi told her to do a few years of bhajan in Barsana, then He came to Vrindavan. His guru was Lalita Sakhi and He founded the sect called the "Lalit" sect. His samadhi and bhajan place is located near old Raas Mandal at the bank of Yamuna in Vrindavan. His foremost disciple is Shri Albeli Ali and Kishori Ali.

    The sakhīs of Braja, headed by Śrī Lalitā, are immersed in sakhya-rasa and cannot endure separation from the lotus feet of Śrī Rādhā even for half a moment. They accept Śrī Rādhikā alone as their husband and, always remaining under Her shelter, adorn themselves with auspicious ornaments such as nose-rings, bracelets, bangles, jhalakā, and other symbols of married fortune.

    Sri Radhika Maharani always remains under the loving control of Her devotees. According to the bhāva of each devotee, Swāminījī reciprocates with that very rasa, worshipping them with the same tender feeling of love.

    In the exclusive devotion of Shri Radha, I do not need to follow the injunctions of the Vedas and scriptures, nor do I need to please or fear any other deity or god. My only longing is to serve the lotus feet of Sri Radha, which is not attained through the grace of gods or scriptural rituals, but solely through the mercy of Shri Radha Maharani herself.
