Dhaaradhara Nibhakara Dheera Gambhirniswana. Gauri Janamanohari Garkantha Priyaswara. - Sage Narada, Raag Nirupanam (161) Raag Gauri is the wife of Raag Hamsaka and has a form like the watery cloud. (black complexioned like a black cloud). She is bold and dignified, possessing a resonant sound. She has a lovable voice of a juicy throat charming the people. Raag Gauri creates a mood where the listener is encouraged to strive harder in order to achieve an objective. However, the encouragement given by the Raag does not allow the ego to increase. This, therefore, creates an atmosphere where the listener is encouraged, but still prevented from becoming arrogant and self-important.
